Dear Neighbor,
I’m John Winchester. I’m a husband, a father of four, a lifelong Southern Arizonan, and I’m running to represent our community in the Arizona House.
I grew up here as one of eight kids. My family taught me early that hard work matters, but so does taking care of the people around me. I started working construction when I was 14, and in high school I began volunteering in nursing homes and correctional facilities in our community. By college, I was helping local families and members of my congregation save money on renovation projects.
That experience shaped the way I approach problems today. You listen, figure out what needs to be done, and get to work.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work alongside business owners and community leaders through organizations including the Chamber of Southern Arizona, the Vail Chamber, and the Southern Arizona Leadership Council. Those experiences have given me a firsthand look at both the opportunities our region has and the challenges that make it harder for families and businesses to succeed.
Those challenges are personal to me, too. Groceries cost more. Housing costs more. Healthcare costs more. Families are working hard and still feeling squeezed.
At the State Capitol, I’ll focus on the things that have a real impact on everyday life: creating an environment where good-paying jobs can grow, keeping our neighborhoods safe, strengthening our schools, addressing the cost of healthcare, and making sure state government respects the taxpayers who fund it.
I’m running because I believe public service should still be about solving problems and getting things done.
We may not agree on every issue. I don’t expect everyone I represent to. But I can promise that I’ll listen, be straightforward about where I stand, and treat people with respect, especially when we disagree.
I’d be honored to earn your vote. You can learn more about me and where I stand at WinchesterForAZ.com.
With gratitude,
John Winchester
